This is the third year in a row that we have organized foreign volunteers to come and help with projects in Atambua. Our team consisted of 2 volunteers from France, 1 from Italy, 3 from Australia and 1 from Taiwan along with our 3 volunteers from Jakarta. We spent a total of 2 weeks in and around Atambua, traveling also to villages outside of Kefa. In each village our main focus was with the children where we distributed milk and bread to encourage nutrition. We also distributed diapers, sanitary napkins and school supplies and sang songs and played games with the children. Some villages we had to travel off road for up to 6 hours to reach and since these villages very rarely have someone visit them we believe it greatly encourages them to just know that someone cares.
We also visited the Primavera school built by CAMADE outside Atambua to celebrate the 11th anniversary of the school. We had a wonderful time together playing games and enjoying a meal together. Thanks to sponsors we also provided each of the 27 children with a new pair of shoes and socks.
While visiting one village we met Angela who is crippled and unable to walk for most of her life. She is now 19 years old and spends most of her time in bed. We were able to get wheel chair for her so that she can go outside more often and get around in the village. She was so happy to receive this much needed gift.

Tahun ini adalah tahun ketiga dimana kami mengundang relawan asing untuk datang dan membantu program kami di Atambua. Tim kami terdiri dari 2 orang relawan dari Perancis, 1 dari Italia, 3 dari Australia, 1 dari Taiwan dan 3 orang relawan dari Jakarta. Selama 2 minggu disana, kami berkeliling Atambua dari desa ke desa. Di setiap desa kami memberikan masing-masing anak segelas susu dan roti untuk cemilan sehat. Selain itu kami juga membagikan paket popok dan pembalut, perlengkapan sekolah, bernyanyi dan bermain bersama. Memerlukan waktu kurang lebih 6 jam untuk sampai ke beberapa desa, termasuk satu desa di Kefa karena jalan yang kurang memadai. Tetapi perjuangan kami sepadan karena desa-desa ini hampir tidak pernah dikunjungi dan para warga sangat berterimakasih dan antusias atas kunjungan kami.
Kami juga megunjungi PAUD Primavera yang kami dirikan, untuk merayakan hari jadi sekolah yang ke-11. Kami bergembira bersama dengan berbagai macam lomba dan menikmati makan siang bersama. Terima kasih kepada sponsor yang telah mendonasikan 27 pasang kaos kaki dan sepatu baru untuk anak-anak.
Di salah satu desa yang kami kunjungi, kami bertemu dengan Angela yang baru berusia 19 tahun dan telah lumpuh hampir sepanjang hidupnya. Keseharian Angela hanya berbaring di tempat tidur. Kami berkesempatan mendonasikan 1 buah kursi roda dengan maksud agar Angela dapat keluar rumah dan berkeliling sendiri di desa.
