This year again, as in previous years on Idul Fitri, we visited the homes of the ex-street children who study with Sahabat Anak. This is a very long day event as we go from house to house. The houses are very spread out over a large area of Jakarta. All together there are about 20 volunteers who participate so we usually rent a small Jakarta public transportation bus (Kopaja) for the team to travel to the different areas where the children live. It’s quite exciting to go to these very tight areas of small alley ways and for all of us to spend a little time with each of the families. They are also so happy to have us come and visit. Thanks to generous sponsors we provided a bag of food staples for each family.
