Our four man team consisted of Albert- from Darwin and Nicholas, Daniel & Terry – from Jakarta, spending one week in Dili, Timor Leste. Before leaving for Dili, Albert shipped 7 boxes of donated goods for children from Darwin, Australia – which we had planned on distributing to needy families in Timor Leste. Our plans don’t always work out the way we think they should because God often has something else that He wants done. During our week in Dili we were not able to get our boxes out of customs while we were still there, so we left the boxes with our friends in Dili who will do the distribution. This allowed our friends to be more involved and probably do a better job since they have more time and know the situation and the need much better than we do. Our trips are never just about social projects and so we were able to spend more time focusing on meeting and counseling with people, which is really one of the main reasons that we made this trip. This is somewhat of a special project because usually we only work within Indonesia but this time we felt led to reach out to Timor Leste. Since this was a new venture and a survey to see what opportunities may open up for us in the future, we took time to meet and talk with people networking and making contacts. We had a very fruitful visit and wanted to thank all of those who helped to make this trip possible and we hope to have more pictures to show you soon.
